Would any KnitPicks yarns be suitable?

Just waiting for my book ... and am thinking about which yarn to use. I believe I read that the gauge was 19 stitches (not sure what size needles -- maybe 7US?). Is anyone thinking of using a KnitPicks yarn?

Anxious to hear other people's choices/substitutions.

I just got an email from Knit Picks about a sale on Main Line, a worsted weight cotton merino blend for pretty cheap. Not sure if it'll work, but worth a look.

Elegance and Merino Style are both DK weight. I will probably use Merino Style. I prefer the color range, and it is only $2.29 a ball. Elegance is $4.49 a ball.

Discountyarn.com has the Plymouth Indiecita alpaca (3 ply sport) for $42.50 a cone. I am tempted, but not sure that I like any of the colors and am wondering if it is a tad too fine for this. I am also considering the Classic Elite Inca Alpaca which my lys has on cones.

I considered Andean Silk but am now leaning towards Classic Elite Inca Alpaca or Classic Elite Premier. An alpaca blend would make this sweater warm and soft with a nice drape. I think choosing the right yarn is the hardest part of most projects I work on!

I'm using Classic Elite Follies in Myrtle (a dark olive) from Elann, which I've had in the stash for a couple years. It's a rayon, alpaca and wool blend. It says it's worsted, and I got gauge, so I'm going for it. Yeah, I swatched before the starting date.

I am trying Noro Silk garden. I bought enough last year at Stitches. I am in the middle of moving and I already brought the yarn to the new place. I will be able to swatch in a couple of weeks. I think it has the right texture and weight.

Deena mentioned that the yarn is Twisted Sisters Daktari. Actually, it is Twisted Sisters Alpaca. It is a worsted weight yarn so if you were to use a DK or sports weight, the gauge will be different and adjustments will have to be made.

Elann.com has a lovely worsted weight alpaca under their own brand (I believe it's Peruvian Pure Alpaca) at $3.98 a skein for around 109 yds. per skein.
